That's awfully considerate of you, but here's a thought--coming from an unreformed mackerel-snapping Catholic, what about having the lamb curry anyway? Nothing wrong with your display of solidarity--that's very nice of you--but if I remember right you're agnostic, correct?

Or--you could go vegetarian tonight, and after Lent ends in Eastertide, why not go out again? They called these feast-days for a reason you know. Besides, it's an excuse to spend more time with friends, and you need a good social life too.
