Surgical correction would be fairly major procedure cutting into either your upper or lower jaw bones.
If upper, taking sections out. If lower, adding additional bone or other material to augment it.
Then being mouth wired shut for up to six weeks.

I know a guy who had this done.
He had an underbite aka bulldog jaw.

He said that if he could have somehow known what the experience
would really be, he wdn't have had it done.

Orthodontists considered this for me, but decided against it. Overbite.

It sounds like a very invasive and unpleasant procedure. If it doesn't cause any problems, other than you not liking how it looks, maybe it would be good to convince yourself that you are ok the way you are, everyone is different and many people find that kind of physical characteristic endearing and cute. :)

I had a narrow bite and a crowded mouth of teeth. They pulled teeth, widen my top palate and l wore braces for two years to move teeth back into new places, this was in high school.

I do have an overbite as well. This is very common. I've had braces too. Usually after a while your jaw will return to its former position (at least a little).

See if there is a dental school in a major town near you. They will do this work at a reduced cost. And you are always overseen by excellent dentists who guide the apprentice dentist. That's how my work was done.
