Playing JRPGs is one of my favorite things to do. Have you played any of the Dragon Quest/Warrior games? They're amongst the greatest RPGs.

I would, but it never works in practice, they're far too easy to hold my attention, outside of the Atlus games. It's too bad, I'd like them in theory and I do like some of the much, much older games (like Final Fantasy 1 on the NES)

Try out the Japan exclusive ones Misery! They're super interesting! Sweet Home in particular is a very challenging mix of Nintendo HardPG and proto-survival horror!
