They're just never satisfied with anything I do. I've never felt like they acknowledge that I'm good at anything... what it almost seems to me is that they're afraid that complimenting me on literally anything will give me a huge ego or something.

I think they feel like downplaying/not acknowledging achievements = being humble and not egotistical. I'm not asking for them to make a huge deal out of everything, I would just like them to be proud of me because they aren't! I honestly never feel like anyone cares about anything I do and that no one is ever proud of me.
