iPhones don't last that long though... I currently have a 12 but it's seen better days too. I personally don't find Android or off-brand phones that user friendly since I'm pretty technology-inept.

Which kind of iPod? I remember having (and losing) a first-gen shuffle that lasted so many years, then getting a 4th-gen Nano and being so amazed by being able to see the playlist on the screen for once! I was an early Spotify weirdo back in 2008 though, so I transitioned to all-online before a lot of people

I found samsung galaxy A52 really good (relatively cheap and still good), until I lost it after a few months : /

I would recommend to root (admin access) the phone always (works only for samsung I think) and to delete all the bloatware, which is pre-installed. this makes the smartphone much faster and the battery lasts much longer.

I bricked (crashed) my phone sometimes, because I was too less careful and deinstalled the wrong things, but you can endlessly restore your phone with Odin on the laptop, which I did. I also once installed a custom OS.

I used to have an ipod too, mine had 80GB memory, which at the time was huge. It lasted about 10 years. It had a hard disk drive, which eventually and inevitably failed. After that I got another with an SSD.
