I'm really sorry you are feeling so low right now :-( I can certainly relate to some of the things you've mentioned. If you need someone to talk to feel free to DM me if you want :-)

The fact that you posted this here instead of cowardly retreating into misery or oblivion shows you have some strength left.

Thank you both. I really need help. I don't know who to talk to, because therapy and medication aren't helping and haven't helped for a long time. I don't need to be hospitalized, I'm not likely a real danger to myself, as much as I really don't want to be alive right now. Maybe I need an irl support group but I don't know how to find one.

I can really relate to the problems with meds not working. I don't think my meds work like they used to :-( I really hope that you are ok right now? The best I can suggest is to try and reach out to anyone you can trust and don't keep things bottled up. Sometimes externalising things can help to process difficult feelings.

I can only add that I share such sentiments as well. Where on occasion even in retirement I find myself as if I were my own business, having to constantly manage this and that to the point where it can be overwhelming. When I try very much not to look beyond the next 24 hours, and deliberately live day-by-day the best I can.

Ultimately knowing that all I can to do is just "soldier on" for better or worse.

Meds do lose their effectiveness. So you may need to recalibrate the prescription or change the prescription. So a good doctor is constantly asking you how your meds are working.

Anyways, l am always here also for you to call or pm. I fight battles too wondering what am l doing here. But l am so stubborn, l want to see how my storyline plays out no matter how bad the storyline is.

I'll just say, feel free to contact me directly if you'd like to talk. Helping with this sort of thing is something I'm familiar with. And it's good to reach out, instead of trying to hold it in... take it from someone who knows first-hand.
