I love making dog training videos but friends keep saying I should make commentary videos and vlogs, because there's more of an audience for that. It's not something I'd be opposed to doing but idk. A lot of people I know irl have told me that I have the perfect personality and "charisma" for Youtube.

I did have somewhat of a following on Instagram many years ago but I think I've posted about what ended up happening with that. It was too toxic and I essentially got bullied off of the platform, mostly because of my... opinions on certain things.

Don't female Youtubers have to be really good at makeup and clothes and stuff lol? All the ones I watch have amazing makeup skills. I'm great with hair but I'm not entirely confident about makeup because I don't really wear it. And my fashion aesthetic is so random and weird, and entirely gender-neutral, I feel like it'd be a turnoff.

I think that's what is happening to a lot of skilled popular people, a dog trainer on YouTube was recently kicked out of a country which he had courses scheduled and impaired in doing his job by internet bullies sending claims to the state he was up to something else. He was detained and deported, couldn't help the ppl who paid him with their training.

I don't care about fads so I don't wear makeup. It wastes my time and itches like hell, creates inflammation to my face. I don't subscribe to fads, like designers and their advice lol. I make my own different styles though they bully me on the street continuously for it.

That's awful! I'm not surprised tho, I have been threatened by a lot of people claiming to be "animal rights activists" which is one of the reasons I keep a low profile online. Between that, and speaking up about how racism and homophobia and ableism were affecting me personally and getting a lot of backlash for that, I quickly became an outcast on there.

I have been wearing some of the same clothes since I was like 14 years old and I don't care what anyone has to say about it lol. My fashion sense is definitely weird and "outdated" in some cases but oh well. At least stuff from when I was a kid in the 90s and early 2000s is coming back, lol

You gotta be ready to get hate, especially if you choose to be open in your distinctions and minoritary differences. Some people who belong to minorities got targetted in real life til they were driven to suicide, years spent being harassed on social media and beyond, threatened. They're willing to ostracize, dominate the other, affect the activity of such peers.

Well you said it really well before I read it. Seems like we said the same thing, minorities are targetted. But honestly there's countless reasons they use to try to discriminate, discredit and invalidate the valuable things people do. If there's none they make one up.
L
Luca
Yeah, I do get targeted for the same things in real life, unfortunately. These are some of the reasons I usually tell people I don't want to take their advice about Youtube :/

Some of the new styles are ridiculous and people aren't supposed to spend so much on clothes each yearly season, it's crazy the waste humans can create for no good reason. I have been wearing my past year jackets for years. My body never had an issue with the model of the clothing being outdated. I don't want to participate in senseless competitions about clothes that take place with 'connoisseurs' on the street.
L
Luca
I only buy clothes that I like, lol, and the only time I really need to make a big "change" is if I gain a lot of weight. Most of my current jackets were purchased in 2019!

1. as a woman you could get sexualized or some people just watch you because of that
2. you could be a target for cyber mobbing and hate commentarys and people could identify your house and your adress and maybe harass/stalk you in real life
Shaddock
Shaddock
3. you would have pressure to produce content and it could take years until your efforts would be financially wortwhile. you could "loose" much time.
4. people could like, but also hate you because you´re different. (autism and in general)
Shaddock

I don´t watch that but there are women who make "just chatting" on twitch for example and only have viewers because they have a big cutout and chiefly male people look their videos for their boobs. no joke.
Shaddock

but there are also non-sexual youtubers and influencer on youtube for example who don´t do that and have normal fans. I only know gamer influencer.

5. your informations are in the internet and once in the internet - always in the internet
Shaddock
Shaddock
I wouldn´t do that in your case. I would recommend you to do your business in real life and I think that´s already much to be managed. but your decision, don´t know what you want or like.

don´t do what your friends advise you, do what you think is the best for you
Shaddock
Shaddock
but I would probably watch your videos, because I like your cool voice : D
