We have a lot of Turkey Vultures and Bald Eagles in our region. The Turkey Vultures have red, featherless heads.

The last time I took Rue on a hike up our local bluff trail we had a pair of Bald Eagles pass right over the top of us. Having that huge shadow flicker over you is a bit disconcerting. Rue is 35lbs, too big for an eagle, but I still have a lot of respect for the raptors.
