I had to go look up a spider leech. Had a real fine day. Bicycled to the next town over, cross-country, got coffee & went to a street fair by accident then went to church, hung out a lot with the punk scene.

That's one of the most ancient ranges in the world; the granite is over 1 billion years old, and the peaks were once islands in a prehistoric ocean - before there was multicellular land life! 
It's pretty spectacular hiking.
