It was fun; I also made friends with a very prominent antiques trader today who saw me buying it & had to comment on the piece I was picking up. It was a nice old clock in uncommonly fine shape.
Anyway I got it oiled up & reset the verge this evening.

The design is a banjo clock. Very "New England." The back doesnt come off so I removed the pendulum rod & suspension, pulled the dial & clockworks out the front, and just oiled it a bit with oil on the end of a probe to see if that would get in there & unstick it. It did.
