It's like that a lot of times. There are some topics that aren't safe with a lot of people. It's finding people who are safe to discuss it with, that's the tricky bit. Thankfully dangerous people sometimes reveal they aren't safe. It's the stealthy ones that are the real hazard.

Like I don’t feel comfortable saying publicly, on here or anywhere else online, what the actual reason is that I have a service dog. I revealed that on another forum and my disability, or whether or not I “actually have it,” became the subject of debate.
Do people really have nothing better to do with their lives, than harass strangers on the internet? I was also pretty young at the time…

Service dogs are service dogs. If they are qualified & helping, why let them even BE a subject of debate.

The Internet is bizarre. For every supportive person it seems like there's a counterpart who's convinced it's all fake. I used to think ADHD didn't exist, for example--and that my autism symptoms were the result of my own weak character. Some people are like that--Immature.

I don't know why you have a service dog, and apparently neither does anyone else here, but why would it be their business. Not like you're a taxicab driver greeting people like "Hi, I'm Luca, & also I can't see. So my dog will drive the taxi while I shift gears for him; he can't reach the clutch--"

People do not need to harass folks for having service dogs, any more than they harass people for walking on crutches or a leg-brace. There was an old woman who used to take 2 Shih Tzu dogs into church every Sunday. It was kind of distracting but those dogs were her emotional support and they enabled her to leave home. So they needed to be there.

Wish people were better educated about service dogs in general--but the best thing would be a serious dose of empathy and minding their own business. I don't know who's messing with you, but I hope that person quits--soon.

Sorry. Didn’t mean to rant :( A bad memory from a different forum I was on got triggered… no one on here is treating me like this. But I still don’t feel super comfortable disclosing certain things, and probably never will :(
Btw, you *do* know what my disability is… you’re my friend and I trust you, so I told you before ;) I have told my close friends but do not wish to make it public knowledge.

Mental health issues I don’t feel super comfortable discussing, period… I think it would change some people’s entire view of me if I told them certain things :(
