Yes. We have three donkeys. They are big, expensive, humorous pets. I really enjoy them.

Yes, they're so Zen! We love ours too! :)

I trim them myself so it's not so expensive, but it doesn't help my arthritis! ;P

I'm howling with laughter over Ben. Maybe tomorrow I can get some photos of our three and post them here. One of ours is a "Jerusalem donkey" like Ben whose name is Pedro. The other two are standard brown donkeys named Fetus and Jenny.

I wish we could trim their hooves ourselves instead of paying $45 per donkey every other month or so.

Did you ever see this clip, Mary? It's funnier than our Ben. It was this French guy visiting a donkey and playing a trumpet piece for him. The donkey then engaged in response braying, as male donkeys will.

Some people thought this was cruel and that the donkey wasn't enjoying it, but nobody was making him stay and his paddock was big...we also found that if we played back the hoots of strange donkeys from YT over speakers loudly enough for our own donkeys to hear it, they all came running, surrounded the building and started braying! :)

PS: Fetus! There has to be a story behind that...
