Enzo is actually pretty submissive and in this case he was just defending himself. The other dog was big and very dominant and pinned him so they were rolling around in the dirt attacking each other. I hope this doesn’t make him think he always needs to be defensive with other males.

I would never recommend anyone without formal training to do this but I had to jump in between them, tackle them and pull them apart. I could’ve gotten very badly injured but I wasn’t going to let them kill each other. I did lecture the owner (she was a teenager.)

Dog park, training session, or just out & about? This is wild.

Literally just out for a walk. The dog wasn’t on a leash.
I hate dog parks. I don’t take my dogs to them and I would never recommend anyone to go to one. More like “disease-ridden fight club for dogs.”

Sorry about this. I have perpetual problems with idiots because my rescue dog doesn't like being approached and jumped on by strange dogs. So I put her on the leash when there's dogs that look badly controlled, and then often we have to put ourselves between our dog and other people's leaping, uncontrolled dogs, sometimes have to kick at them when they won't go away...

...and then we often get owners telling us, "Why are you doing that? My dog is friendly. If your dog isn't, don't bring it here."

Chatted to the ranger and the etiquette is, other dogs should not be allowed to approach people, or dogs on leads, unless they are invited to. Try explaining that to people...

Ugh, I know, I have to tell people that all the time!! Enzo is a friendly dog for the most part but is technically a rescue- was repossessed by the breeder (my friend) from a really idiotic owner and therefore has some issues. But even my dogs that I purchased at 7wks old would snap if they were attacked.

I don’t like being called a know-it-all but sometimes I have to educate/lecture people. A lot of people are not knowledge enough about their own animals!
