Go for it. If you're having trouble you can take a pen & paper and write from there--then go back & add your references. "Writers write" basically--so just write an Awful First Draft and go back through. Typing it into the computer will make it easier to revise.

Thanks. I have a few notes and a pad by the bed for ideas but no bedside light. Sometimes the notes I write in the dark are actually readable when daylight comes!

I can't write well on the computer. I have the attention span of a brain-damaged goldfish. So I use an old manual typewriter or pen & paper, and can write for hours & hours on end that way.
