  • The hard part about having milk goats was the hay. Getting the hay, storing the hay, keeping the hay dry.

    Was it worth it in your opinion? Did you ever work out cost affectiveness of paying for the hay vs the final product of milk and meat.

    I was [and still am] allergic to cow milk. Goat milk cost $12 a gallon,at the time. Cheese....is just amazingly expensive. Some years hay cost more, some years it cost less. The manure/bedding was valuable for the garden.
