Hi Maelstrom! It's cold and rainy :)

Well I guess if I end up there I'll just have to pretend it is Alaska
Best wishes Mael

Not quite, I guess. I base my perception on Jack London's books but the weather is milder than in Alaska and it is cloudy the most days of year. Frosts and snow are rare. A lot of rain and humidity through all the seasons.
There is a saying: "I'm a resident of St Petersburg - so when humidty hits 99%: I don't swoon but spread the gills proudly"
Best regards,

Alaska is extremely cold in some places like Fairbanks, so cold they cancelled a dogsled race. I however lived in Kodiak Island not so cold, not warm either, a rain cloud sat over the Island like a umbrella...the rain fell all the time like a heavy fog. We did get snow too. :) best wishes Mael

Interesting! I had a look into the Wikipedia for Kodiak Island - It seems you had plenty of snow in winters and very little warm in summers. I wouldn't survive in such a cold climate (in SPb there are warm summers, mostly: this year June and July were, respectively, the coldest in 50 years)..

It is nice to hear your summers are warm...you are right that Kodiaks summers were cool they rarely got to 70 f/h mostly in the mid 60s, winter wasn't so bad hi 20s to 30s snow usually melted off soon because of the rain....black ice was terrible tho.
I have a interest in the Petersburg area.
I hope you're doing well..best wishes Mael
