I don't have a link to the original studies. I was basing my statement on just what I know of the history of psychology of attachment, especially this video: http://www.violence.de/tv/rockabye.html You can find references to the studies in the video at the bottom of the page.

Just this bit "Thus, love-hunger is stronger than food-hunger." I had an argument with a councellor recently, who denied this as possible cause of depression.. weird!

What, does the counselor think malnutrition is the cause of depression? Lol. Btw I dunno if you watched all of it, but the rocking and touch sensitivity parts are in the first 10 or 11 minutes.

I know! Considering social acceptance is our most basic instinctive need, I couldn't believe I was having the conversation - I was derailed every session until I quit going <Rolls eyes> At one point, while I was arguing a case for AS, she did indicate that my social difficulties could as easily be due to lack of nurturing/peer learning as a child.. Er, eh? Was she not contradicting herself there?
