Yeah. My other tom cat was walking around looking like the sign on a pawn-shop. I'm not even sure how he sat down without jangling everything. He ended up getting neutered & adopted by some nice people a few states away. I am glad your kitty is doing all right.

I have a tomcat recently a tom-kitten who must be to the vet's as well. Unfortunately he's a cryptorchid cat as far as I can tell it and the operation will be that much more complicated. Your kitten is very pretty & I am sure she's going to be fine; it's hard enough to keep a kitten from...

    What Is Love?

Love is to will the good of another. There is no love without sacrifice, and there is no worthwhile sacrifice without love. It is freely chosen and freely given--the manifestation of charity.

A geologist was on NPR last Sunday morning talking about his theory that rocks, too, evolved in conjunction with the living organisms that shaped the world around them. Very possible that your sample is actually the miniscule skeletons of ancient beasts.

Depending on the type of sand, you may be looking at seashells of a sort. They may be foraminifera, a tiny organism with a calcified exterior. Sand that made limestone was formed out of them. Where did you get your sand samples?

Do you own an outdoor grill?

I have a Sproul Baker reflector-oven, which is a way to bake bread & what-not if you can't get an oven. It is made of sheet tinplate and folds up and you sit it next to a bright fire to cook what you'd like. The old "river-drivers" in Maine used them. For grilling I usually dig a hole in the...

the whole thing started as a science experiment last winter and it got a little out of hand but fixed 10 or 12 years of depression - which is reason enough.

the number is a reference to the year Archduke Franz Ferdinand was shot and WWI broke out which I still think could be seen as a valid line of demarcation between "Christendom/Western civilization" and the modern world. the name itself changed because I am trans, and my previous username...

Narrowing down that my next mental-health fixup project is going to have to be the moderate to severe anxiety. At least that is fixable, but I've never worked on it in a targeted and specific way. So this will be interesting.

I live in South Carolina and haven't had A/C all year. The electric fan helps, as does opening windows at night to get cool night air into the house. Baggy vintage clothing helps as well. It's hot indoors but I'm fortunate to be able to handle it. In hotter parts of the world, the poor people...

Cooking brunch right now. Ground pork from wild hogs, some seed buns, might slice up some raw onion & farm fresh tomato. Black coffee, no sugar. Hot coffee & donuts are great and taste like being up at 5 AM feels!

    Don’t hold back.

Five people? Glad you were able to make sure no one burned to death. I don't have an extinguisher on my old car but it's a good idea and even cheaper than a month of insurance. You're the right sort of person.
