There are a lot of Brits here....

I wonder why that is? Are people with British heritage more prone to this disorder (which I believe is genetic)? Wouldn't apply to me, though, as I'm a third-generation Jewish Canadian.

Maybe its because its a British site in its early days and is therefore more active during British daylight hours. I'm sure though that as news of the site spreads then it will attract a more international community.

Yeah, that probably holds some truth. Well. Anybody that I invite to the forums is from the UK anyway. Feel free to invite some friends from elsewhere to get the ball rolling a bit... faster? :)

As i've found, most american aspies are pro aspies and they REFUSE to talk to NT's. They think Aspergers makes them better than everyone else when it has advantages and disadvantages which levels us out with NT's.

I'm a strong believer in that most of the prevalence alternations are simply down to diagnostic criteria and health care.
/Mini-somewhat-unrelated-rant/
For example, in the 30's, Autism was considered CHILD-PSYCHOSIS. So how exactly one can label the increase in cases on anything _but_ diagnostic criteria is insane. It's like trying to compare the rise in depression and schizophrenia cases- there's _no_ correlation :/.
/Mini-somewhat-unrelated-rant/
Most people in America probably can't go to a Psychologist all the time 'cause they have insane prices, and it's not like Asperger's isn't something that can go undetected. And with America's portrayal of Autism(just take a look at the Autism Speaks adds :/) and the stigma Autism has, people with AS wouldn't be suspected with an ASD and even if self-diagnosed, the stigma is a lot worse in the US so I don't even think that label would help in the long term.
I doubt it's genetics though.
And I disagree with Benedict on the whole American pro-aspie thing.
ANNNNDDDDDDDD... something else I've forgot about. I'll remember sometime later and edit it in(or not).

Ok, i'll post the link on zomgaspies, and intensity sqaured (which is for adults only) so maybe you can all go and join those sites too ;)

I've checked out ZOMGAspies, and it seems pretty cool. Still browsing though.
I don't like Intensity Squared all that much. Topics like, 'What race do you dislike the most?' are extremely off-putting.
EMZ.

Buttcoffee and soyleiu and the funniest people on zomg. But there isn't much action on the forums really. Yeah, there's no limit to what people say. The opposite of wrongplanet. But its tongue in cheek mostly.

Ugh, if you Google 4chan and then go to the first link, then into /b/, it's all like... yeah... it prides it self in it's like zero-moderation policy or w.e.
A lot of internet memes originate from 4chan like lolcats and st00f.
I don't recommend going there, or posting there, 'cause it's just not a very safe place imo.

Being a brit myself I obviously won't complain there are other people similar to me near by, however I know a small handful of people from canada with AS so it's most likely a coincidence. ^^

Bit like I2 then? Lol, I can't really be bothered, cause i'll just start arguing with any vermin there.

I go on it sometimes because some of the stuff there's hilarious but it just sucks that you can't go 10 minutes without either coming across something homophobic, racist, pornographic(well, like, 10 seconds for that), etc. :/.

...LOL.
Well, I just don't like porn being thrown at my face. It's like. There's a time and a place :/. LOL.
Yeah, I'm trolling here. LOL.
