Switch Archiving

So, I'd like to know something specific about the Nintendo Switch's archiving feature:

If you use it, will it erase any saved data on that game? Like: If I archive Breath Of The Wild or Super Mario Odyssey, will I have to start over from the beginning?

Your game saves will not be touched, just the game itself will be removed which will have to be redownloaded if you got it digitally. It even says so when you use the Quick Archive option under Data Management in the Settings menu

So, again, does that mean my game/progress won't be erased and I won't have to start all over? Just want to understand.
