I was at a thrift store last week and they had the pre-Special Edition versions of the first two Star Wars on video for like $2.50.

Was tempted to buy them but I passed on them, if they had all three films I woulda grabbed them just to have them.

Oh wow! Most Star Wars VHS tapes, especially those of the Special Edition sealed, or first-release versions can be worth significant amounts, even into the thousands or tens of thousands of dollars.

I watched it in 1977 at the theater. The line around the theater to get tickets was two hours long, it went around the theater twice. I remember being excited when I got to the inner line.

^^^ I saw New Hope with my family in drive-in in 1977. watching Star wars with a backdrop of a clear night sky full of stars was mind-blowing

When I was a kid candy was the most important thing to me. I was in the theater so mesmerized I had the same piece of candy in my hand for a long time. I forgot to eat. I do not know if anyone now, younger, could know what it was like to see Star Wars then. Nothing like it before. It was like a new invention. I have never felt like that in the theater with any other film.

when i was a kid i rewatched return of the jedi over and over, my dad had a videoclub at the time so i borrowed from him the video tape.
I didn't like the prequels and less the latest ones

Was there in Hollywood, when Star Wars opened at Graumans Chinese Theatre. And got there early figuring it was a big deal. It was first showing of first day , with my GF . Figured since nobody. Was there in line.?? It was going to be a big flop . No idea, how we got so lucky .Thought maybe, people were waiting for other people to reveiw .?? It was one of the best Movies ,I saw on a large screen. Think it was a very Lucky day for us.😁😎

The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker almost ruined it for me. I'm thankful for the series that have come out (except half of the Kenobi one). They've saved me from turning to the dark side.

Yes the problem seems to be a combination of Disney writers and Kathleen Kennedy who have completely diverted from George Lucas legacy/storyline/canon in order for each to stamp their own individual take creating storylines and characters (old and new) creating disjointed plots/storylines and characters that don't make sense.

If "Star Traders" was our big hit, the star people might come out into the open to meet us. If they do, though, I'll bet that they will make video contact first and check with Air Traffic Control, rather than staging a surprise landing like Spanish Galleons in the New World.

It would be hilarious if there really was a galactic empire and star wars type array of alien life forms. And that they put a cloaking device over our solar system so we see only see a simulated empty space full of simulated moving stars and galaxies.

It was my favourite thing as a kid. Born in 68 and saw the movie in the theatre so many times when it was new in 77 and then in 78. Now I watch the old films and facepalm so hard over the dialogue.
