Speech Differences In ASD

I think that I must having the cluttering speech problem because it seems like I have almost always been very frequently told that I am speaking too fast and running my words together.

This is interesting. I do have the monotone thing with my voice. Though I also have a problem with mumbling my words, when I am anxiety ridden. Though I question if that is ASD or a byproduct of psychosis via disordered speech.

I can't hear that I speak too loud

I have a hard time putting my thoughts into words some of the time, I can't find the word that would fit

Come to Australia - speaking fast and running our words together is how we talk here. ;) (Oweryougoinmateoright?)

On the topic of cluttering speech, Australia is not the only place where this happens. A classic comedy bit from Jeff Foxworthy about 10 years ago called "Words in the South": Hilarious.

Words from the Redneck Dictionary:

Well, I am from the south. I have lived here my entire life. So if cluttering speech is common, there must be something different about mine. I suppose I should also note that "rednecks" as such seem to dislike my use of " big words."

They are not the only ones either. My Nana once accused me of cussing her out. It might have been when I was explaining the difference between monocots and dicots. If not it was a similar topic. Sadly, I did not know that was an apparently common sarcasm if someone could not understand what someone else was saying. I was all distraught about thinking I had just unknowingly cussed until someone, I think it was my Mama, explained that Nana just meant that she didn't know what the words meant.😅

My speech is fairly NT. As others said, cluttering is common in my community, but I'm being very niche when I use the term "community": young Orthodox Jewish, yeshiva-educated men. I also use long-winded sentences, with a lot of explaining and provisos, as I try to make myself clear and understood. I'm doing it right now in this paragraph, but it's more pronounced when talking. Then there are the times when anxiety causes speech to be difficult, resulting in quiet, clipped replies or not speaking at all.
