Too WEIRD for the Weird...

It's official Softbank of Japan has announced a plan to buy ARM Holdings (CPU maker/designer) for £24B/$31.8 B (at the current market rate).

ARM Holdings is the second biggest CPU maker/designer in the world, who's chips and chip designs power smartphones, tablets, MP3 players, etc...

All Apple's mobile devices are powered by Apple's modified Ax Chips which are based on ARM's designs.

Also if you own a dedicated handheld gaming device, it's ARM powered as well.
Your Android device is probably ARM powered too.

ARM is literally the second biggest chip maker/designer behind Intel.

ARM is considered one of the crown jewels of the British Economy.

Shareholders and the UK government still have to approve the sale, though there is a good chance Tories might block the deal to keep the company British.

Softbank cites low UK Pound caused by Brexit as a key reason why they decided to act.
