I have had on a few occasions experiences where the person serving me while I try to spend a royal bank of scotland 20 pound note (from the atm!) has looked at me funny. Anyone else had this? Don't know why the mint having brought into circulation polymer 20's as they have done 5's and 10's.

No offense intended, but shouldn't this be moved to "Off Topic"?

LOL...yeah. I sometimes wonder if I will get a similar response with those fresh twenty dollar bills directly from my bank's ATM. Hasn't happened so far. But then with most people handling cash these days all seem to look for the strip through the bill and all the watermarks to verify it as genuine.

That said, I'd love to have one of those British Pound notes made in Germany's Sachsenhausen concentration camp between 1940 and 1942. Yeah, the ones that ended up at the bottom of Lake Toplitz for a spell.

They have or they haven't? Australia (who invented the polymer banknote) recently got new ones. Still being rolled out but they're awesome! Polymer is the future of banknotes.

You hear that America? Soon you won't have to use your bedsheets to make notes with!

For us or you? We're getting new 20s, they're just being rolled out, so I'm yet to see one.

Yes, you said you'd heard it in the UK, but not mentioned where they were being introduced, hence the confusion.
