I do too, but I often can't or I can't hear if it's not quiet enoughI certainly have the ability to speak.
*envies*I've been told all my life that I have the opposite problem.
So you don't have both?*envies*
I wonder how it is when words come to your mind all the time instead of pictures
In real life, I used to be very verbal.Anyone here not quite verbal?
Both picutres and words? No. Just pictures most of the time.So you don't have both?
I'm too verbal. Everyone will hate me soon.
Gestures and/or basic sign language work for me so far. I could write if it was needed, but it seems like usually it's not.It was confirmed at my diagnosis that I am non-verbal in specific situations. I'm still working out all the specifics for myself, when to use a tablet, when to use cards or wear a lanyard, what wording to use and the best ways of explaining and describing my specific challenges to people.
I don't want to diminish your uniqueness/individuality...On the other hand, in one to one situations, if the other person has expressed an interest in one of my fixations, I can go on and on ad nauseum.
Only if I'm in a partial shutdown because someone was screaming at me or bullying or when I have to manage to stay quiet to keep from angering my Dad but generally no.
Same.I tend to have the "ADHD motor mouth" which is kinda the opposite problem. I am also quiet when hyperfocus mode is on.
Hmmm I just move all the time and daydreamSame.
But I am better at keeping the "motor" in neutral, these days.
So no inner dialog I suppose? Hard to imagine life without it. Though maybe it wouldn't keep me up at night so much without it.Both picutres and words? No. Just pictures most of the time.
