Anyone watching this new series on the SyFy Channel? About a space voyage intent on making a "first contact" discovery. With a telepath/empath on board who seems more of a liability than an asset in helping to effect first contact with whomever- or whatever is out there.

Seems difficult keeping up with. Kind of like the film "Event Horizon" but going in several directions.

I remember "Event Horizon." Laurence Fishburne was fantastic in it. In fact, the whole movie was really well done and I am not what you would call a Sci-Fi guy.

I'm watching the first episode right now, about halfway through it. Enjoying it so far :)

I suspect those of you who enjoyed "Event Horizon" will probably like this one. Not quite the same by any stretch, but it skirts along such lines in a number of ways. High creepy factor. Though a lot is going on in each episode.

If you are enjoying this and Event Horizon floats your boat, then try to get hold of Origin. Very similar atmosphere and a good watch. It's on YouTube's paid platform and the first 2 eps can be watched for free. There are plenty of ways to watch the rest if you know where to look, but also YouTube have been offering a month free in the UK so they likely are in the US too.oh and it has a really sweet autistic character in it too :)
This first one has been very good and already has been creepier than the whole series of "The Haunting of Hill House" which I really can't understand the fuss about.

I haven’t seen it. I’m the only Aspie in the world that doesn’t like science fiction.
Although, your description makes it sound interesting... better than a Christmas movie! Except Bad Santa...lol
