Most messed up/Disturbing Movie You Ever Saw?

For some reason Donnie Darko was extremely disturbing to me. Frank the rabbit did not help...

Also, I've never been able to finish Princess Mononoke. For a movie with "Princess" in the title it's actually extremely violent.

When the Wind Blows: Based on the book by Raymond Briggs (The Snowman, Ethel and Ernest, etc.), this film shows an alternate version of the Cold War and focuses on an older couple as Britain is hit by a Soviet Nuke - with the pair, who have put their faith in the false and hypocritical information provided in the Government's Protect & Survive campaign, realizing the true horror of a nuclear holocaust and the futility of survival as they slowly die from radiation poisoning.
I recommend that you watch this film once then never again, and only when you're ready to face such a heavy hitting film.

Once upon a girl:...just...downright...sickening. What I saw in the review alone nearly made me puke.

Extremely intense: violence, sex. drama. It drained me emotionally, it took me a while to recover.

Me And You And Everyone We Know: it's really messed up, but in a good way.

If you want one that's messed up in a bad way, Talk To Her. (Warning: rape and subtitles.)

Headless...I've seen some the most messed up movies ever made (infact it used to be a past time)
It makes movies like saw, hostle, salo, and a Serbian film look tame. It is the only film I have ever not finished because of how sickening it was

OK, I'm going to sound like a wuss but- Rocky horror picture show.( I saw it as a tween.) Apart from it having a nebulous plot, the scenes where they dragged Eddie away, cooked him up and served him to unsuspecting guests were just really vile. My friends at the time were all theatre types and they thought it was the greatest movie ever - I just thought it was a vile movie with a few good songs and no plot.

Romper stomper. It's a really good movie. but it's really violent and intense. Romper Stomper - Wikipedia

A Serbian Film. The uncut version.

It’s violent and pornographic, right? I looked it up. Shock value. You’ve never seen Eraserhead. It’s subtle, pernicious, psychological “violence”—there’s no gore or sex in it. This type of “disturbing” is far more disturbing to me than physical violence—far more.

I think KITES is the most messed up movie. The guy leaves his wife for a woman in the movie...it was a very touching movie cause the woman he cheated with was very beautiful...and the acting was great...so great that it took a hold of my emotions that i kept telling myself that its only a movie...but then i found out the 2 actors in the movie really did have an affair while making the movie and the actors wife really did leave him

Name the most messed up movie you ever seen?

For me it's a tossup between The Descendants and Nebraska. I felt depressed after watching both.
For me, Class of 1984. I watch the movie on The Movie Network a few decades ago. End up being the most violet high school based movie I ever seen in my life.

My vote would go to "Nothing But Trouble" because of one thing: an execution device called "Mr. Bonestripper". It's disturbing as all get out.

Psychologically disturbing, I think The Hour of the Wolf (1968)

Happiness
(1998) it's pretty messed up, implicitly.

If we're talking about explicit movies, maybe A Serbian Film, although conceptually it's very juvenile in my opinion.

I have seen Eraserhead. Great movie. But Eraserhead did not disturb me nearly as much as the newborn rape scene in A Serbian Film did.

The Holy Mountain (1973). I think I spent the entire movie with my jaw on the floor. An absolutely bizarre trip into blasphemy, sex, warmongering, and spiritual enlightenment. This film features the dumbest and most infuriating ending I have ever seen. But, hey, the cinematography is amazing and psychedelic. I will say that much for the movie.

Watership Down. Of course, we can thank the stupid animation age ghetto for making us think at first that it was just a kid-friendly movie with talking bunny rabbits, not unlike Disney.

It wasn't a *bad* movie though, and the recent CGI remake looked really dumb. Big surprise.

The Emoji Movie - because after The Care Bears Family begat The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh begat My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, the creative train ran out of steam, so we wasted billions of taxpayer dollars and well paid Hollywood actors' time just to make an ENTIRE movie that revolves around those no copyright faces hidden inside our smartphones and tablets. And the movie itself had no effort put into it, making it a total bomb and bust.

All in all, even if The Emoji Movie wasn't scary (or funny), it's still totally messed up, and receives more peripheral hate than Barney and Friends (Which I also HATE) would on a normal day. Not even my five year old great cousin will watch it now, and I don't blame her!
