ive made three videos for the autistic community, what do you think?

toothless

this is mr shadow,my support cat
hi guys, ive got off my lazy arse [and sat down on it again] to make three videos on different subjects,i used to make youtube videos years ago when i was non verbal;teaching people how to do makaton and other things but i got bullied badly about my behaviors and my functioning so i took them down. ive also made two videos on facebook to try and help parents on several autism groups understand severe autism but i only got response by aspie parents who know it isnt a bad thing, the rest of them i assume were outraged that someone with LFA could be positive, they only see it from their view;and people say WE have theory of mind problems!
.
now im significantly verbal i need an outlet to get my thoughts out and i also want to help people understand things to.
i recently started a channel on youtube called AutieEmlyn so this is where i will be putting all of my vids,id love it if any of you would view or share my videos and ill do the same thing for you if you give me yours.

so what do you think of them?
-my experiences with low functioning autism.

-rescue/sensory bags for people with autism

-using CBD for autism.

thanks guys!

Cool. Nice to see some people representing the most severely autistic side of the spectrum on YouTube, I'm subscribe to a fair amount of people with Asperger's so it's good to have a broader range of content makers.

I've been thinking about making videos myself but I don't have the equipment yet or an ideal location. Yeah, may happen yet.

Yeah, the way allistic people react to autistic people is illogical. To build on your point those of us who could function well in regards to employment are held back by discrimination to disabilities and interviews that aren't structured for us, and they have the attitude that we are the burden! Makes no sense. The rate of unemployment in autistic individuals is 86% in the UK according The National Autistic Sociality.

I applaud anyone with a learning disability who can do voluntary work too. There's a guy who goes to the lavender farm I help out at who does his bit, he needs support to do so but he's helping out in the way he's able. It would be great if one day sociality could find jobs in the workplace that suited people with LD so they had a chance to lead a life which is as normal as possible. Only if they could do it without there being some big problem with the people who can't work for various reasons though; I can easily imagine the whole argument of "you look fine, so you can work" BS applied to them then. I digress though.

Keep making videos, if you have **** from people disable the comment system.

I think its great that you're putting out videos! The LFA side of autism really needs to be promoted. I don't know if that's the word i'm looking for, what I mean is that people need to see videos like yours and learn about it from those who have experience with it so society can learn to live with it better. People with LFA or moderate to high functioning autism can work, too, but interviews aren't structured to enable us to get jobs.

I'm HFA (suspected) and I suspect two other employees at my workplace to have it too. One, the new janitor kid, I'm fairly sure is moderately autistic but he's the sweetest kid there. He's very polite and outgoing and he's one of only two people to suspect I was upset and actually come over to see if I was okay. The other one is a cashier like me who I think is either moderate or high functioning, not sure which. I don't ask though I just accept their behaviors for what they are. And privately hope they're like me.

This is beautiful, toothless. It brought a tear to my eye. I admire your bravery for being back on YouTube after being bullied and are now spreading awareness of your condition which we all relate to one way or another. Keep it up. It's nice to see a face to your name.

hi southern comfort-why not go for it? does your laptop [if you have one,i some how think everyones using a laptop because i am] have a camera? thats what i used.
i think its important everyone gives their experience of autism because we are all different and its good to find someone to relate to instead of just sticking to the same popular autists [no offence meant to them i just think its good to see the underdog to].

i totally agree with everything youve said-youd make an awesome vlogger.

hi kari,thanks for replying.
youve got the right word-promoted,i think it needs far more promoting by those of us who are able to because its currently represented by parents who treat us like a tragedy and i f*****g [sorry] hate that with a passion.
i know their answer to be me would be-oh you arent LFA because you think its just a different way of living and you dont have to cope with severely challenging behavior every day; they dont understand, that was me up until last year, i lost my care home place [yet again] last year and spent christmas in an awful respite centre because of how challenging my behavior is,i now have more stable behavior because my meds were sorted and because of my support cat mr shadow as i know i have to try to be as calm as possible around him but early this morning i was screaming, biting myself, and banging my head plus i cut myself and smeared the blood-a bit of whoopsy,i had had severe sensory overload the evening before because id gone to the trafford centre so i was stressed and then a support staff was waving her status around and refused to give me my calming meds half an hour earlier despite there being a rule that i can have them up to an hour before or an hour after,so yeah i kicked off in frustration and still coming down from sensory overload.

its great when you spot another autie/aspie,try and befriend them kari you might get a good friendship there i personally think auties/aspies can be the best friends as we can be extremely loyal,[but obviously rubbish in some aspects though like communication, interaction and socialisation.]

thankyou kirsty! the person who bullied me was also bullying me severely on wrong planet and another multiple disability related site to,i had thought he was my best friend- he stalked me across the internet basically and chipped away at my self confidence making me believe i was a burden to society, that my voice as an LFA wasnt welcome on forums and should kill myself, which i did try multiple times.

i became psychotic;exactly like how paranoid schizophrenia presents,i tested high on a pyschologists PANSS test for schizophrenia but for some reason wasnt diagnosed, my nieces were put on some sort of social services safe guarding because of me i wasnt allowed in the same room as them and i eventually flipped, tried to make a bomb [which didnt work] to bomb the residential home i lived in and i smashed up my whole room, put my head through the triple glazed window and got thrown down by the police and in total i was pinned down for 20 hours as i had to wait for a place at a learning [intellectual] disability hospital to come available, i ended up with severe damage to nerves in my spine and i can barely walk now plus i live in severe pain apart from when i puff away on the CBD.

i was sectioned for 4 months and had my melatonin took off me so i now dont sleep at night time,so this bully had a huge effect on my life.
ive only touched on the subject, hes done far more crap, always monitor friendships to make sure you are not being groomed, ie if they mimick you and your likes/dislikes,your level of autism and your experiences etc.

These are great. I have a sensory bag, too, and have earplugs with my EVERYWHERE and in all my pockets. Sounds are bad for me. The absolute WORST is odour and you cannot do anything about it. People use perfume and I can't breathe. I have masks and I even have a super respirator for emergencies. I LOVE that sparkly ball. Totally gonna get one.

So in mine it's:
1. earplugs
2. masks
3. sunglasses
4. book
5. gum
I also have sunglasses and latex gloves because I hate the feel of things to touch.

hi gary thankyou! i totally agree with you bullies make me feel sick i have seen a lot of bullying of people with disabilities and if i see it i stick up for them i dont let anyone get away with that s**t. i have ADD to,is yours obvious to other people? ever since i lost the hyperactivity in my twenties people think i dont have ADD anymore, they dont realise we have executive dysfunction and concentration issues still its annoying.

thankyou warmheart-i am glad you like them,i see you as a upcoming role model for vlogging,i think you really should consider it as a regular thing, you could discuss your sensory issues in detail again a lot of people would relate to that.

PS: Where do you get the CBD? I want to try it.

Also.......Will it work if I had bad reactions to POT? I smoked pot and went paranoid. I have terrible medication reactions. I looked it up and it is only a derivitive of pot. I really need anti anxiety for medical problems and the autism.

hi okrad!! i totally relate, noise is my biggest issue to-have you ever thought of ear defenders? they really help me more than ear plugs but i use a very industrial version.
i have sunglasses to because of brightness but i forget to wear them like i forget to wear my normal glasses.
i like your bag! :)

are you in the UK? if so,you can go into a vape shop-theres loads of them now,and just ask 'do you sell CBD oil' theyll tell you there and then, ive been paranoid on cannabis before but on CBD im fine-the paranoia comes from the THC in cannabis, CBD isnt psychoactive so it doesnt involve issues like that but i can tell you it really helps with my anxiety!

also, you will need to have enough cash on you for a vape stick they can cost anything from around £35 for a half decent one, up past £100 i think, one of my support staff uses an expensive one and its got a screen on it monitoring the oil plus you dont get oil coming back up in your mouth like you sometimes can get with the very cheap ones.

These videos were very interesting. I am curious to know what effects you feel when you inhale CBD oil. I ask because I've seen and read amazing things about CBD effects on epilepsy. I'm sure the videos are up somewhere on youtube. Try keywords CBD Charlotte's Webb epilepsy seizures children (the videos I remember are of kids having their seizures halted almost immedietly upon INGESTION of CBD oil). It's a safe drug with virtually no overdose limit. I'd be interested to hear you elaborate further on its effects when you take it.

CBD will act differently than cannibis. The psychoactive component (thc) is purified out. Thc is the most common cause of anxiety. This is why CBD is legal here in the states; it does not get you high. Vape shops, or you can find it online in multiple places. You also do not need to smoke or vape it. You can buy tinctures which is CBD suspended in some type of oil. You can use a dropper and portion out however many drops they recommend.

hi cory, ive heard its amazing for seizures! i have what used to be known as grand mal epilepsy in cluster form and also rarely suffer from status epilepticus, currently my seizures arent going wild so i cant test the epilepsy side of it,i do get feeling im going to have a seizure before hand on many of my seizures so its very possible i could try CBD before a seizure comes on.

lets say im having a panic attack,i take the CBD,and suddenly my mind slows and calms and my breathing calms and i stop speed rocking, and nothing enters my mind, just peace.
with general anxiety it gets rid of the physical feelings that accompany it and also the mental symptoms, so i can avoid taking my PRN lorazepam.

another example, when i am getting shooting nerve pain [i have a lot of spinal nerve damage from a lot of rough restraint] ,i take about three puffs on the vape stick and the pain is gone,so is some of the weird stiff type feeling i get with it.
