Images not showing up

I have tried posting multiple images in various threads over the past few days with no luck. I ended up deleting most of the posts. I tried about six different images from various sites so I don't think it's a problem with the images themselves. It just keeps showing up as a red x. I kept the red x image up in this thread up, perhaps it can be investigated. Can others see this image?

I have seen others post images without a problem as I've seen new replies to threads such as this one:

I'm using Google Chrome as always and my same Windows 10 laptop. I did recently clear my cookies but I don't think that would be an issue. Any ideas?

Hey, I have the same problem.
I thought it was just my computer.

I use Windows 7.
I haven't been able to use any images, yesterday or today.

Firefox.

Yesterday was when I noticed things were different.
I cdn't copy and paste any images from the font site I
use for Birthday Greetings.

Today I figured I'd just copy a snowman picture and
use, but all I get is the box with the red x.

So rule out operating systems and browsers for now because you have issues with various choices.
Might be a server side glitch, but I'm not qualified to confirm it.

Firefox as well.

Same as you tree. All images posted from any internet sites, or google images. Pictures from my own computer, will post.
Each time I try to copy an image to this site, I receive the red X only.
I have an update to install from Firefox, don't know if that will change things.

Using Google Chrome on Windows 10 with no issues what-so-ever, but I also can't see the images that are posted by the people with the problem so the forum system is storing them differently. Since I am unable to see the source BB Code of someone else's post it's difficult for me to diagnose the issue, but if you right click the icon in the top right to "Use BB Code Editor" when editing your post (the staff will have permission to do it to), it can give some very important clues. I will post an image below and will show you the BB code that it's created afterwards to correctly display an image, so it doesn't interpret the code after as BB Code and display the image twice I have to use the "code" tag which is found under the "+" icon on the toolbar:

aspiesspectrum.png

Code:
[IMG]https://www.aspiescentral.com/aspiesspectrum.png[/IMG]
I used the image icon on the toolbar and simply pasted the full URL to add the image. The images are stored as BB Codes and this is then interpreted and converted into HTML by the forum system so it displays on your browser. Above is the BB Code for the image above it, the full URL of the image is simply pasted inside "IMG" tags. You can optionally add this code yourself with your own image URL without using the toolbar icon, this could be a possible workaround.

I also sometimes use imgur as my image host and it can generate a BB Code for you which you can also paste directly into the forum, this may or may not also work as a workaround.

If anyone who is having the issue or staff are able to post the generated BB Code for a non working image as I have done so above I will most likely be-able to diagnose the issue, but remember you must use the "code" tag as I explained earlier to do this or it will interpret the BB Code rather than displaying it. It may also be helpful to explain exactly how the non working image was added.

If your browser isn't displaying any images what-so-ever such as the one I've posted above on ASPIESCentral then this is a different issue most likely related to your browser, I would firstly try clearing your browser cache, if you need help on how to do this please let me know.

I use another non-aspie forum and images aren't uploading there either. They are both WhippMedia sites so I'm guessing WhippMedia is having an issue then.

First thing I did was going into the photo section of members' personal photography to see if externally-linked pictures were still getting through. Seemed everyone's pictures still show there at this moment. Also just updated Firefox version (58.0) and tried MSIE in Windows 7....no differences noted, although on this page I don't see any images except Nitro's.

With selective functionality/problems I can't help but wonder if it's a Level3 outage/backbone issue perhaps beyond this domain ? There does seem to be some reported activity for this time frame for January 23, but I can only guess whether it reflects these problems noted here.

"Level3 is having issues since 11:41 AM EST. Are you also affected? Leave a message in the comments."

Sometimes all we can do is to wait "it" out. Whatever "it" actually is.
