I feel like I am ready to die.

I see the world around me going to hell.

I see people embracing the end of decency and basic humanity.

I am ready to die in the face of all of this instead of sticking around to see how much worse it will get.

Are you alright. You're scaring some of us. Try to think of some of the good things in your life even if they are just small things.

It will be a long day....and night....and beyond. I share your concern.

I'll be spending as much time as I can away from the media altogether. Hope you can as well.

Metalhead I know nothing about what conditions you have. I do not know if you have depression and receive treatment for that. Without knowing you or reading your past posts in this section I can tell that things have been very challenging for you by the title of some of your past posts without having read the post.

Today I just happened to read this.

First I will say you mentioned you like to write in another post in the off topic section and I thought when reading that then why do you not start writing as I am sure some people would like to read what you write if it was of interest to them. Perhaps your other gifts if you mentioned them in that post go over and think about it and think how you can develop them.

Try and unplug for a bit if you find things too much. Me I refrain really pretty much from watching the news to reduce the overwhelming coming into my life and walk away from stressful situations when needed.

This world certainly can be very difficult at times and I do relate. Just last week for example I felt in a situation that made it impossible for me to be in this world. The bottom line in the real world some people in my real life wanted me to lie basically and follow their codes it seemed for the rest of my life and it was not something I felt I wanted to be a part of. Things have moved on and life goes on and you pick yourself up. It’s a really hard world but I have my faith and that is how I only cope. It’s certainly a hard world.

Do you have interests that you could get involved in.

Whatever happens, I always want to see what becomes of humanity.
I view it all with curiosity and from a neutral standpoint. Like a scientist wants to view an experiment or how things work and why.

The news does not bother me. I don't watch tv to watch news, but my house partner does, so I see a lot of it. He is obsessed with it. I see some things that catch my attention and that's it.

Being here is like an ongoing learning process. I am a watcher. It's all interesting.
I really don't want to leave it. I would see how the world ends if I could.
But at my age and declining health that is very doubtful.

I see society (not the world) going to hell

As someone who has been the victim of indecency and lack of basic humanity, I see it better than many.

This sounds like one of your depressive episodes. You seem to have them regularly. You will get through this one as well. I plan to stick around until I am the last decent (or close to it) human on earth.

We'll all go down the drain together, holding hands in a circle, and singing For Whom The Bell Tolls.

Whatever will be will be.

@Metalhead says in Occupation (in his profile) he's Nihilist. I want to applaud this sensitivity to Truth.

Do you know what Nihilist is? It is not good, i feel.

On another unrelated forum I'm on there was a discussion about a few countries extending assisted suicide to people deemed too expensive/troublesome to keep alive, including autistics. I noted that if offered assisted suicide at 16 I likely would have taken it, but being alive to watch the implosion of the greatest civilization known to have ever existed has been one wild trip. I will be 50 in a few weeks so I would have to say that the trip has been worth it, and I want to stick around to see the grand finale. I'm thinking it might be like the end of Atlas Shrugged where the lights go out for the last time as a few survivors try desperately to flee the cities. I put the famous flying toasters of the 1990s screensaver After Dark as my avatar for now because it captures the absurdity of this moment imo.

At the urging of my local friends, I made an appointment with my therapist for tomorrow afternoon.

Common decency and human kindness will not prevail. This is the world I live in. A world where mankind’s basest instincts to dominate and kill run supreme. A world where human kindness is seen as weakness. A world where the weak are murdered by the rich for fun.

I give up on building myself up.

Not exactly, times do change. Once Christians were burning women alive over nothing (inquisition killing witches), now they're mostly very kind people, and inquisition is seen as their dark past which they're trying their best to forget. And more and more people choose to be vegan, to stop animal and nature abuse, because we can do it, it's in our power.
People have power to change, and they're doing it. It just doesn't happen as fast as we all wish it would.
Please don't give up on yourself.

@Metalhead, decency and kindness remain, we can create it in ways within our control.
Small scale, in our relationships with those we care for, and with ourselves, the parts of our lives we have power over.

Metalhead I am glad you are seeing someone today. What is the things that you like to write about, may be you can open a blog?

I feel the way sometimes

Just know, you are not alone

I’m here if you need to talk. I’m dealing with something that is hard to handle nowadays
