Finding out about myself late in life. Found out from my counselor that I am on the spectrum but high functioning. I suppose that's a nice way to say. Your brain doesn't work correctly but you can still live like it does. It wasn't surprising to hear that I wasn't normal. Everyone I ever met seems to say that. I get Comments like "you take everything too literal." To being told I am to blunt or rigid.

Thank you, funny, I had always thought mine worked better than others because I love to learn and study. I found out that's a symptom. The sensory over loads are the only parts of it i would change.

Hi there.

Echoes what has been said to me many times.

As for the brain wired wrong, which is a popular opinion from nt; the actual fact is, our brain is wired DIFFERENTLY and for all the little negatives we have to cope with, believe me, nts have their own set of negativites that they don't cope with, because they think they are normal lol

It is rough being the minority in this world and why aspiecentral is so amazing, because the tables are turned and nts are the minority here!

Hi, Kristine. Welcome!

I found out about myself late in life too, but the knowledge has helped me to function better.

Hi Kristine and welcome. Our brains work harder and it looks like we use more of our brain. :)

It's not a "symptom," because you don't have a disease. It's a "characteristic."
