Hi, I have suspected that I am autistic for a while now. After researching and asking input from husband, parents, and taken some tests online it all points in the same direction. Well when I first started looking into it as aspergers but now, in the United States at least, it is ASD. So tomorrow I have an appointment with my GP for a referral to get diagnosed. I have read about others having difficulty getting a referral and am a bit worried. Did anyone else have issues with this and if so what did you do? I am a bit unsure what information I should take? It is difficult to find a good checklist for adult autism to take.

Hi, welcome to the forum. You will quickly find most (almost all) Doctors and even therapists know very little about ASD. Your best bet is to search ASD specialists in your area and start from there.
