Greetings , my name is David (21)
Lately I've been thinking why is it hard for me to do "basic" things that people do every day with no thoughts at all and no worries.

Ill list my "problems":
-It's hard for me to make eye contact. i cant explain it , its just not comfortable for me.
-I am afraid of social contact with strangers. for example going to a restaurant and reacting not the right way to some incidents such as:waiter telling a joke, eating nearby strangers.
- I don't like taking risks, its really stressful for me
-I like my own routine, its annoying when my schedule changes or something pops up in the way
-I don't like surprises
-Trying new stuff or going to places I have never been is kinda stressful
and i got lots more of things i am doing everyday.
+I am obsessed with math , it's my favorite subject everywhere.
back in high school if I wouldn't get a 100 I would be a bit frustrated. people used to mock me because they had lower grades then me and hearing me saying to the teacher "96?" and sighing made them angry.
with all of this above, I've been thinking maybe I am on the spectrum.

I know I shouldn't diagnose myself but i'd like to hear your opinion.
should I see a specialist ?
does it sounds like I got nothing ?
+I didn't listed everything that I do

hope you are having a nice day

Many here are self diagnosed. That part is a personal decision and can get a little expensive. Sounds like you've been comparing notes on autism and yourself. I was diagnosed at 59, but I also feel like 'if the shoe fits'. If it'll help, you might try to go back in some threads dealing with your own specifics and remember that we are all unique in our personal traits.
Glad you're here.

Welcome to the Forums! I hope you make new friends and enjoy your stay in the process! :)
