Give Thanks Thanksgiving GIF by Ecard Mint

My Uncle and I have done alot of work today, for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Cooking all kinda stuff. Plus two deserts. We are going to smoke the Turkey tomorrow.

As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.
They can. Yesterday at my mom's, I watched four of them land in her yard. Perhaps turkeys force--fed and fattened for eating can't fly. I don't know.

Once when I was hiking, I startled a turkey that was sitting on a tree limb. It flew directly over me, and I was amazed at the intensity of the down wash of air from it's wings.

One of the funniest quotes of my life happened on Thanksgiving.

My ex husband is indigenous, and obviously my daughter is too.

Years ago, we were having Thanksgiving with the extended family. I was in the kitchen with my parents and the in-laws, talking about what we were thankful for, but in kind of a silly, sarcastic way, having fun with each other. I joked, "And thank you Native Americans for this beautiful land."

He was sitting on the couch. It was dark over in the living room, so no one knew he was there. Out of nowhere, he piped up in reply, "Yo. No prob."

We all laughed so hard. Absolutely caught us off guard. I still laugh when I think of it.

We have Thanksgiving in October in Canada. But I was sick last month so I had to miss out on it.
Honestly, I don't get the American Thanksgiving. People giving thanks for what they already have, then the very next day they're out trampling each other to grab whatever they don't have. Usually some stupid toy that their kid will have broken by New Year's Day.

And of course I can't say anything about the politically divided garbage. No, I really can't, which fills me full of anger and frustration at the human race.

The next day is a separate holiday called Black Friday Sells or something like that. I don't celebrate that. I don't like the idea of people trampling each other over some stupid gadget at the store either.

Is it a holiday? 🤔 We have had Black Week here all week long now, I didn't buy things I didn't need, I only bought things I would have bought anyway, things I needed, and I saved around $150. 😎 So it's not all bad.

It seems that the shops just quote a discount off the RRP which is never the actual price. So you only think you are saving money. Anyway I feel annoyed that Black Friday used to refer to the day I was born and my birthday in 2 weeks, Friday the 13th. 🥳🥳
