I don't know what it is, I don't venture into every forum by far and the majority of threads I may not open. I cannot and I know if I tried opening more than I could cope with I wouldn't soon be able to cope. I will also obviously respond to things that catch my eye and things that I am more interested in and relate to.
I have soon coming up to be reigstered for one year on the forums. I just used to post in one section and observed things going on time to time in waves and was not in agreement, but I was generally ok at that point. I do not wish to talk about my experiences further.
I think the time of year may be isn't too great for some of us and it is a hard time for many in the world as well.
I will be straight in this thread. I think many of us have a neurodiversity and many have issues with their hypersensitivity and hyposensitivity. Some too perhaps may have issues with their behaviour. I do not know but it is not unheard of with autism is it. There also may be issues with communication at times.
Now, we are all adults on this forum, or at least over 16. We should try and treat others with respect, and not use this as a place to a launch a bad day on everyone. If you feel that way perhaps stay away a little while. If you feel it urgent, well you must do what you think is right.
Of late I have read posts where people have sworn at others which to me would have left me in bits to pick up in the real world. NHS staff in my country are told not to take abuse in my country and swearing is considered abusive. Treating people aggressively also like saying what they are sharing is a load of rubbish for etc, that can shock someone. For example I do not get treated like this at home in the real world by anyone as adult, let alone coming to pick it up online. For the second matter my nerves cannot manage a behaviour like this at all. I could get that someone else may be finding something difficult and understand their plight-but my hypersenstivity will not care for that and it will be affected as well. Another way of saying something commenting on the article should be considered, just keep it neutral and try and treat someone as would any other stranger in the street.
Sometimes, I wonder if forums are for me lol. Let's say some of my areas are level 2 for communication lol and so is sensory/repetition etc. However, just yesterday before I was scrolling through a forum section on another autism site I do not often visit. One of the posts was questioning and debating/griping a faith group going on retreat and I was thinking on reading first thoughts...mind your own business and get on with your life. I have been on a day retreat and I found it a good way to recharge and focus..mind your own business etc....For example I may not see some points to some things but certainly did not reply to them and had no intention of and didn't read the post either, I could just see by the title.
Just being generally aware of others more if you can from what I have seen most times it is not far of this on this forum. Some people leave sometimes as well as sometimes you have an idea as they say, but sometimes they don't. Sometimes I have seen poor treatment of others, and you just hope it passes at times for if you stepped in you know your head will be on a plate and they can resolve this themselves with moderators. You will if you need to hit the report as well.
I think some titles are done like a sensationalist title in the press to try and perhaps get people to read that may unsettle the nerves of others so to speak. Some titles may get changed for this. For example, and this I think is important. We are entitled in this world to have our own faith and can start up our posts. If someone of another faith do not wish to read something-do not open it. For the majority of faith in the world this is a contraband for example......ev_l
I have taken out one word and it unsettles me to write it, but you can make it out. So for example I suggest you avoid putting what is contraband say to another faith in the title of a thread when it can be replaced with another that will not offend. Using such a word may deter groups from even using that section as many are taught from infancy you see that word and avoid, avoid and stay away and don't come back. There are so many faiths it applies to. Then there we are a vulnerable group and why put that on this group who are trying to get on with their life and they may be underminding their faith to them and most do not wish to connected to such goings on and having not even opened such threads I doubt actually they would live up to what the title suggests to some. This would not amount a closure or telling someone not post their thoughts-just to choose the title carefully.
Now with religious groups we should try and respect this and it can be a learning curve for some. The internet is so full of things you may ask is something ok perhaps even yourself being stung shall we say in the past, but may enquire with no idea and when informed you have no idea who is reading you understand and deal with it straight away and learn from it.
You can add yours if you want on how we can work together constructively and not to turn this into somethin about you. When I see things of behaviour going on and it can make me jumpey and start thinking if prolonged is this a behaviour school and you do not wish that and this is no way it and no habouring place fo it. I treat with everyone with respect generally on here and when I came see the majority as being more abled than myself.
Just let us try and get along and treat others with respect and try and avoid putting contraband things assumed of offence to many in the title of threads or what may cause discomfort as well.
Sometimes as well using a universial name for something that is understood is helpful as well. If it is not understood perhaps consider explaining the title in your first post.
Noone should have to avoid a forum they enjoy because of contraband titles used to create posts to make it a safer space for all as it should be.
