Eve Online experience?

Looking at getting into this game at a future time. Trying to decide if its worth the time and money.

This depends entirely on your level of patience.

I've played it before. Eve is an EXTREMELY grindy experience. You can look forward to very long stretches of time where you are doing literally nothing. It is quite possibly the single most grindy game I've ever seen. And that's comparing it to the bazillions of other MMOs I've played, none of which come close. And even when stuff is happening, it's happening very slowly.

But also, it's an extremely social experience. You know how MMOs have guilds? Eve is built *entirely* around constant participation in one. If you try getting into Eve, and arent playing it really frequently all the time, or arent constantly participating in "corporation" (guild) stuff and communicating alot, you'll get nowhere.

That's why it's such a niche product.

Thanks. I suspected as much.
