I do!

My favorite video games are:

Dark Souls (My favorite of all time, I even have a bonfire tattoo, have finished the 3 of them a couple of times)
Kirby super deluxe (that's the last kirby game I ever played and wish I could play all of them)
Yoshi's Island (only played the SNES version and wish I could play the n64 version)
Bioshock series (all 3 games are amazing, yes, even infinite)
Dishonored (only have played the first one)
Super mario brothers series (last one I finished was the one in the Wii, again, wish I could play all of them)
DOOM (I've finished all of them, eternal is my least favorite)
Diablo (finished 1 through 3, hope I can buy 4 some day)
Blasphemous
Hotline Miami (haven't finished 2 yet, but the first one is amazing)
Super smash brothers (last one I played was the wii version and I really liked it, I also really liked the n64 one)
EDIT: Adding more games I forgot

Resident Evil 4
Singularity
Super Mario RPG
Chrono Trigger
Secret of mana
Illusion of Gaia (the most depressing game i've ever played)
Half-life 2

and others I can't remember right now, at the moment I am working on FINALLY finishing Elden Ring, I got it on the release day and I have been working on finishing it for a year and some months, hopefully I finish it and move on to sekiro (which has been highly recommended by a lot of people)

I hope you get to play Yoshi’s Island on N64 sometime! It is a lot of fun.

I really enjoyed Diddy Kong Racing because of the fun maps and Banjo and Kazooie because the characters those are on N64.

My all time favorite game though is Earthbound for the SNES.

And Final Fantasy 7 on PlayStation.

The most recent video game I really enjoyed was Fallout 3 because of the cool soundtrack of oldies songs.

no man's sky! Its a sandbox with galaxies, aliens and other adventures.

You made me want it, I may get it if my pc can handle it.
I like racing games like Dirt Rally/ Grid/ F1, or some 'simulators' like the Silent Hunter series, but they are not as easy to play or addictive or relaxing as something like an RPG like Skyrim etc. I like open world games.
Lately i am playing Deus Ex 1, i played that game like 20 years ago, and i wanted to revisit.

I love the open games. Do you play "RecRoom"? Linear games like the Half life series frustrate me because once I get stuck, I can't proceed without looking things up all of the time. I want to play, not do a research project! Plus, I lose my orientation if I turn, so if speed is an issue, I'm too slow.

Haven't heard of that one, seems to be cooperative.
I agree that, old linear games, have a tendency to have lots of obstacles for advancing. I too get annoyed when my patience runs out, and i need to look things up.

I've always been a big fan of open source games, I run an open source operating system too.

One of the first computer games I liked was NetHack, a single player dungeons and dragons type game using ascii characters as graphics. I still play it today, playing for more than 30 years and never won a game without cheating.

I like strategy games and one of my favourites is 0ad.

I also got heavily involved with the development of a game for a while, a very similar game to MineCraft called MineTest.

Earthbound is very fun!

But I prefer chrono trigger, legend of mana and terra nova

Super Mario RPG is way up there too!

About doom mods, i played recently, Ashes 2063/Afterglow, and i loved it, did several playthroughs one after the other.

Yes. There is one in particular that has a cute brown and pink rabbit that is small and has big ears.

Okay maybe more than one.

Illusion of Gaia (the most depressing game i've ever played)

so I’m not the only one who got affected by that game in that way, then.

Anyway, for me, theres too many to list. Mostly it would be indie and retro stuff, I usually wont go near modern AAA games with a ten foot pole. Usually. Just to try something new, I bought Diablo 4, and…. *sigh*. wont do that again…

Ill list only a couple of things, most of what come to mind are things that nobody is likely to know so I won’t do a longer list.

Binding of Isaac (my #1 fave, and the inspiration for the game that I helped make)
Minecraft
The Void Rains Upon Her Heart
Streets of Rogue
Hyperrogue
Mushihime-sama

too many others

a lot of indie horror games also, which I can’t check the names of from where I’m at right now, but I can say, whatever comes to mind when I say “indie horror”, it probably ain’t any of those. Obscure things mostly.

and then too many retro games to count.

also for the record, I hate tablets with a burning passion. Hate trying to “type” on this abomination.

Most regular games don't hold my attention for very long (I already made a massive thread for my weird outliers), but if I had to choose:

Factorio
Minecraft
Rimworld
Torchlight 2
THPS (quite possibly the whole series?)
Portal 2
Grim Dawn
American Truck / Euro Truck (II) Simulators
Neverwinter Nights

There are some great honorable mentions that are kind of done when they're done (no mods, or not as much replay value after you've played through):

Super Meat Boy (+Forever)
The End is Nigh
Celeste
Cave Story+
Q.U.B.E. 2
Towerfall
Typing of the Dead: Overkill
Neon Chrome
Hue
Full Throttle
Nano Assault Neo
Skate 2/3
Hugo's House of Horrors
Pretty much any WOLF3D-engine game (Blake Stone, Corridor 7, Wolfenstein)

Despite this huge list, I don't really game all that much. Nostalgia is just a good drug!
