Can I work with PDF files on MAC?

Yep!

I have no clue what I'm talking about, I just googled it and looks like the answer is yes.

It depends what you mean by "work with." And I assume MAC means Mac, which has its own PDF app built in -- "Preview."

Adobe Acrobat is available for the mac and that's use to create and edit .pdf files with. Look around, there may be other programs out for editing .PDF's on the mac.
