Anyone understand the dynamic of ASD and ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder)?

I've posted recently a lot about my partner who we've finally realized has ASD and our relationship struggles, as I try and parse out what I can fix and what I cannot. I've been doing work with a therapist, that started off as a couples therapist for both of us last year, but ultimately I just speak to her now. She told me today that she believes he also has ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder). That makes soooo much sense, and I think a lot of you would agree based on comments you had posted on my other thread.

Just wondering if this is common with ASD, and either way, curious if any of you can shed some light into the combination for me. I feel like the hostility has only ramped up, and I'm wondering if it is possible for it to also lessen in any way?

I was diagnosed with ODD as well. I don't really think it's common, as antisocial behaviors as shown in ODD and conduct disorder are not common in the spectrum. Auties tend to be asocial.

Thanks for responding @BrokenBoy — how long have you been diagnosed and how do you cope with it? Not sure how old you are or if you are in a relationship. From your perspective, is there anything that makes relationships better, or that loved ones do to make you happier?

I always thought ODD was a diagnosis for children that may or may not diagnosed with ASPD as adults.

I don't remember exactly. I think I was 9-12 when I got diagnosed. I'm 16 now. I'm basically a total hermit with no IRL friends my age. My a(nti)social behavior being one of the reasons.
