now that the holidays are behind me, i feel completely exhausted
my sleep pattern is disrupted and a lot more restless
really feel the need to isolate myself
don't really have energy to engage in things
just lie in bed with netflix on

anyone else?

That sounds like me too Oilie! I hate being out of my routine and I can't wait to go back to work and back to normal.
My sleep pattern is messed up, my digestion is messed up, and I feel lost and and restless and I don't know what to do with myself.
It's funny when I'm at work I look forward to the holidays, but after the first week of holiday I want to go back to work.
I've had enough of people also for the time being, and I'm looking forward to the solitude I enjoy at work.

I don't like the way holidays mess up my routine, but I do like the fact that I get a long break from work, time to catch up on some things that I normally don't get to do because of work, and time to recharge. I don't socialise much and my family live far away, so I have a very quiet time and the holidays don't affect me too much.

"Holiday Whiplash" no words fit better... Just so glad the holidays are gone and so are the people.
Now if I could just skip the deep bitter winter part... Oh I think its called move, or go on a vacation.

I am going on a "holiday whiplash rehab" in 3 weeks! Sunny southern California and I cant wait. San Diego has been calling all last year. Its time to go to my home away from home for a while. While there I am going to work as hard as I can to maybe not come back at some point. I already smell the salt air from 1400 miles away... : )

This trip I'm going through Moab Utah on the way, and shoot all the way over to the redwood forest then down Pacific hwy 1 to SanDiego. Coming home I'm gonna go through (by) the Grand Canyon and visit Sedona AZ... I was gonna fly but I would rather just see some stuff and take my time this time.

I think this will fix that "whiplash" for a little while. Every time I do this my head gets clear and the world just feels okay again for a while. : )

There's a church in sedona and an english roundabout.

Grand canyon, gotta get there before the million trains arrive.

Bright rim trail is good just as it opens, most didnt start there when i went.

Sedona is "supposed" to be some sort of "energy centre"... It just has me deeply curious. I saw pictures of that church... It looks cool all built in the side of the mountain.

Grand Canyon is going to be a helo ride if I can swing it... I always wanted to do that, and thats the best place I can imagine doing it. It scares me to think about it, but in a good way. : )

A lot of the helo rides go to the west rim, good but you need to try to get one to the south rim, 100 times better.

Yeah, big time holiday whiplash, went to Paris and Madrid and am still recovering from the six hour difference. And from the flu that my husband and I succumbed to in Paris, my husband's in hospital with pneumonia as a result. Can't even get out to see him, as it's -22C here. Tomorrow will be better, I need a vacation from my vacation, somewhere warm that will burn all of the virus away. But I won't be taking any disease ridden planes in the near future.

if you can get to a health food store buy spirulina!it is common for anybody that has been in the hospital to get an infection just from being in hospital! and for no other reason and your husband will have been given antibiotics which will have completely unbalanced his system.
i imagine California is quite warm I know in December and January it isn't hot ,if it isn't still experiencing wildfires.

safer than my mother's brother who drove a Harley Davidson in California !and his wife was on the back !needless to say he came off and she came off !she now has pins in both legs and walks with a crutch! he damaged his back.
don't become a donor at hospital doctors called motorcyclists

Helicopters are awesome! The one time I rode in one it felt like I was in a spaceship because you don't feel it take off. One minute you're on the ground and the next in the air. Afterwards I was so pumped I looked up what it took to become a helicopter pilot. Have a great trip, you deserve it. :D

Motorcycle racers call people who ride without helmets, organ donors.

I have spent my entire Christmas vacation ill. It started with SO coming down with a cold, and I succumbed shortly afterward. His cold appeared to clear up, only to then worsen. I am still weak and shivery but not so congested. Two years ago it became pneumonia, so I was extremely careful this time to do everything possible to keep it from getting worse than it was. Keeping the air moist helps a lot!

So many people are sick... Most everyone I know is sick also... I cant help but look back to the days of old... Were people stronger than we are now? Did they have better immune systems? They lived in much harsher environments, but with lots less chemicals and by-products of the age of technology...
I hope you get to feeling better... : )

Thank you! I think we were stronger in former ages because we were more active. We subjected our bodies to a harsh environment and grew stronger for it. You make a good point about chemicals, because we are exposed to so many!

Everyone at my work got a different variety of sick over Christmas and are currently trading diseases like they were Pogs. Thank God for my Aspie immune system and borderline neurotic hand-washing habits.

I think they did what I do they didn't take antibiotics,if your stomach isn't wrecked by stress then it isn't damaged by antibiotics.
so they develop an immunity,it's very obvious now antibiotics are not the answer.
also if you're not poverty stricken .
