Even the Grinch of the family will enjoy these films.

'Tis the season to be jolly! Which is why you need to keep these funny Christmas movies on hand all throughout the holidays. We love old black-and-white Christmas movies and romantic Christmas movies (we can’t wait for Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas to start) but between wrapping presents, baking Christmas cookies, and dealing with your extended family, sometimes you just need a good laugh this time of year.
A handful of these movies are suitable for all ages, so even the littlest kids can join in. But there are some that are best saved for an adults-only party, and can—and should—be viewed with a heavy serving of eggnog.
Even those who aren’t the biggest fans of Christmas may find themselves cracking a smile after watching Buddy the Elf, Kevin McCallister, or Clark Griswold wreak total havoc during the holiday season.
But with every comedic misstep, there's a heartwarming lesson to be learned (and it's usually Santa who's teaching it). So trim the tree, deck the halls, and get your Christmas dinner to-do list taken care of ASAP.
That way, you can check off as many of these funny Christmas movies as possible without any stress or distractions holding you back. Now that’s a happy holiday.

    01. I'll Be Home For Christmas - Jonathan Taylor Thomas will have the kids cracking up as they watch his character's parents try to curb his rebellious streak.

    02. Gremlins - You can leave some Christmas cookies out for Santa, but don't feed these troublesome creatures a minute after midnight.

    03. This Christmas -
The Whitfields are together for the first time in years, so obviously plenty of buried family drama is brought along too.

    04. Deck the Halls - Matthew Broderick and Danny DeVito are rival neighbors, each trying to outdo the other's Christmas spirit with over-the-top displays.

    05. A Bad Moms Christmas - Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn are back, and this time they're dealing with their own moms who decide to pop in over Christmas.

    06. Just Friends - Ten years after leaving town, an unpopular-kid-turned-record-executive returns and tries to show his former crush what she's been missing.

    07. Dr. Seuss' The Grinch - If the live-action version isn’t quite your speed, then try the newer cartoon film starring Benedict Cumberbatch.

    08. Fred Claus - Vince Vaughn plays Fred Claus, Nicholas’s misbehaving brother who has to work off the debt he owes to his famous sibling after getting bailed out of trouble.

    09. Home Alone 2: Lost In New York - The sequel set in New York City is almost as classic as the original. The jury is still out about the remake Disney has planned though.

    10. Arthur Christmas - Santa’s youngest son has to deliver a present to the one child who was accidentally forgotten.

    11. Office Christmas Party - Jennifer Aniston, Jason Bateman, Olivia Munn, Kate McKinnon, and T.J. Miller play coworkers who are trying to save their office with an epic holiday party.

    12. The Muppet Christmas Carol - Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, and the rest of the Muppets put their spin on the story of Ebenezer Scrooge.

    13. Ernest Saves Christmas - When Santa gets into a rough patch, it’s up to the klutzy character, Ernest, to save the day.

    14. Elf - You'll be hard-pressed to find a member of the family who doesn't delight in Buddy the Elf and his hilarious journey to find his real father in New York City.

    15. The Holiday - Two women who need a break from their personal lives swap homes for (you guessed it) the holidays.

    16. Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas - Watch this live-action take on the classic Dr. Seuss tale. Jim Carrey will have you in stitches.

    17. The Family Stone - Sarah Jessica Parker tries to impress her boyfriend's family and soon realizes it's more difficult to fit in with the eccentric crew than she expected.

    18. Home Alone - Kevin McCallister's tale of taking on thieves after his parents accidentally leave him home for the holidays will be a favorite for viewers old and young.

    19. Love Actually - It's impossible not to be charmed by the various storylines that unfold over the course of this beloved film.

    20. Four Christmases - Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn try to keep their cools as they visit their many relatives on one chaotic Christmas Day.

    21. A Christmas Story - Lamp lights, bunny costumes, and cries of "You'll shoot your eye out, kid!" will keep your crew entertained for hours.

    22. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - The Griswolds and their collection of mishaps make for a fun-filled viewing you'll want to repeat year after year.

    23. Christmas with the Kranks - The Kranks decide to skip out on Christmas—until their only daughter decides to surprise them at the last minute, uprooting their plans.

    24. Jingle All the Way - Parents and kids will get a kick out of watching Arnold Schwarzenegger battle other last-minute shoppers to get his son the ultimate Christmas present.

    25. The Santa Clause - After an accident at his house, Tim Allen suddenly finds that Santa is very real—and that he's expected to take his place as the reigning Kris Kringle.

    26. Scrooged - The classic tale gets a modern upgrade starring Bill Murray as the title character who learns a few important lessons the hard way.

    27. White Christmas - Bing Crosby stars in this iconic musical where he and his singing partner try to romance a pair of sisters.

    28. The Night Before -
Three friends decide to end a years-long Christmas Eve tradition in seriously ridiculous style.

    29. Bridget Jones' Diary - A British woman tries to balance her career, friends, and love life in this rom-com that's perfect for cozy nights in with your gal pals.

    30. Bad Santa - A pair of thieving conmen find a change of heart after befriending a young boy who needs help standing up to bullies.
