  • When I was a kid, I had two VCRs in my bedroom (for some reason) and at some point, we got rid of one of them...or so I thought because yesterday I went into the living room and it was just underneath the living room TV on top of the VCR/DVD combo unit we got under near.

    Huh.

I remember having two VCRs in the living room back in the '80s and '90s. That was fun before Macrovision became a thing.
If money was no object, I'd seriously love to take a super-long cross-country train. I think that'd be nice.

Like Miss Marple? :) I would love to go on a super long drive in my favourite car. If I won the lottery that's what I would do. I'd have to take my cat with me of course and he does look super cute in his little harness I got for him :) So he doesn't dash off if he sees something that confuses him :)

I spent the other weekend touring downtown Charlotte NC with my girlfriend on the light rail line. If that was good I can only imagine how cool a long-distance mainline trip would be. Worthwhile goals @Princess Viola - -

Trains are so fun to travel on.
I go to Walmart this morning and buy a bunch of groceries and now...now...I can't decide what to have for dinner! (In my defense, I have this weird thing where I don't like to eat food I buy at the store the same day I buy it, with certain exceptions like if I buy a sub from Publix)

I live in Publix land too. This state doesn't have many choices but Aldi's has opened up down from me.
love having to go to sleep again at 12:43 pm because you got woken up at like 7am after sleeping like 4 hours because your grandpa thought the clocks were all wrong because of DST because he was asleep and didn't know you changed all the clocks before going to bed lol
It's wild when I think about how my best friend from elementary school and middle school does VO work for anime now. Haven't seen them since I was in 11th grade. Their family still lives up the street from me, but I'm pretty sure they (meaning the person I'm talking about, not their family - they use they/them pronouns btw) live in Texas now.

@georgiagalaxy I am kind of impressed, although I admit I never thought that was the job they'd do as an adult.

That is very cool. I'd be so psyched if that was my friend <3 I'm also excited because a few of my besties are still in school, so they still get to experience it for a bit longer ^_^ And become really cool when they're older
I'll delete this if it's too weird but I'm honestly kind of jealous of my friend who wears diapers 24/7 out of her own choice. I wish I was confident enough in myself to do the same.

I do not want to be Mr Kink Shamer here, but some things belong in the privacy of one’s own residence.

@Metalhead Yes that is fair I should probably delete this post (even though I've already mentioned my interest before here)

This is your interest. So don't apologize. I think l have seen this on some show, where they wear diapers, wear onsies, and so on. One couple, the one took care of the other. There are probably forums where this is discussed and more accepted then here.
I wish I could be a robot ngl.

I mean like a fully-sentient robot that still retains my personality and memories not like a non-living machine.
Sadly our car wasn't ready today so we couldn't go anywhere to eat today sadly. Sucks and also why has it taken so long for our car to get fixed lmao.

Hey, sorry about this. When is the car ready? it may be a busy shop, and or the car repair is complicated. But don't give up, life is constantly giving us tests like this.

@Aspychata It was supposed to be ready today and it's been in the shop since like the end of November.

    Oh boy. That's rough.
I wanna go out to eat, I wonder if I could convince my grandpa to do that tomorrow possibly when we get our car back (hopefully). There's a few restaurants near the car repair shop, maybe we could stop there for lunch or something.
I'm not sure if I fully buy the 'you never forget to ride a bike' thing considering I haven't ridden a bike since I was like 10 years old, but I really should start doing it for exercise and stuff.

I mean I like going for walks but a bike is much faster.

I got into riding one of those old steel bicycles--think roadster bicycle/opafiet instead of modern "road bike." Picture a prop from a WWII movie and you have a good idea what it looks like. Those are simple, fun, & capable of being used for everyday transportation if you want. Would highly recommend.

I love to ride my recumbent tadpole trike. We are blessed with good roads and some nice bike trails. This is a model from Wales. They sent me the parts and I assembled it.

Weird how I am very much afraid of dogs in real life and yet I like cartoon dogs and hug a big plushie of a puppy when I sleep. But she is my friend and she is nice and she is not mean and won't bark at me.

You just need to get to know some friendly dogs. Once you get used to how they think and how they act then other dogs will seem less scary, in many ways they're not really all that different to people.

@Outdated I have known friendly dogs, my mom has had three dogs and they were all friendly.

Dog V4 just loves everyone. This is especially the case if he thinks they have treats....
I find that I both have and don't have empathy. I have empathy because I am fundamentally a decent human being, I hope, and care about other people. But I don't have empathy in the sense that I don't actually /feel/ anything in response to other people's emotions. If someone is sad, I know that I should try and comfort them, but I don't feel sad because of their sadness, is an example of what I mean.

I dont understand what empathy even means anymore. There is also compassion, sympathy and i don't even know how they differ. And than people also talk about effective and cognitive empathy.

Seems common here. And clearly, doesn’t prevent one from being a decent human being (as you noticed in yourself). Or a fabulous one!
Did the New Profile Posts thing vanish for anyone else earlier today or was it just me?
    Gerontius
    Gerontius
It vanished for me too, then someone (was it Forest Cat?) messaged Dragonfire about happy birthday wishes, and then from one post eventually everyone got all their post spots back.
