That is so nice. I have enjoyed "borrowing" nieces and nephews to go backpacking, whitewater rafting or other activities. You never know what impact you will have. I was so very honored and felt appreciated that after the loss of her father a niece asked me to walk her down the aisle at her wedding.

Yes, it is amazing to make a positive impact in a child's life. It is the first time i feel like a parental figure, since there aren't any young children in my family. I thought i would come across as cold to children since i am too logical but today my friend's daughter said she missed me and it made me so happy. I hope i can be a positive figure in her life too.
