why?

I had skin glue applied to the incision in my neck and it needs to stay dry until the wound is fully closed up.

Sponge baths might be good if you don’t touch your neck. I had to have them following my operation although I had stitches.

That and maybe just soaking my lower half in the tub?

Don’t see why not?

Especially since it’s gotten very cold out now.

My shower has been broken for over a year. I give myself sponge baths every day. They work and keep you clean. Wash the rest of your body and avoid the head and neck.

@Markness

Don't you have heat in your bathroom?

Well, if it is any consolation, that shower you have a few days from now will be the best shower you will ever have in your life. I have been in that spot before.

For goodness' sake, at least take a "bird bath" in the sink. I've taken baths in the middle of the woods in winter, out of a percolator pot heated on a woodstove. Your skin will thank you if you can at least scrub the rest of you & wash your hair in the bathroom sink. You're an independent guy; no worries.

What about hot water?

That’s the only heat in my bathroom.
