Hope that you enjoy the con — would be really cool to see con pictures too if you’re able to take them. I dont get to go to a con until Mai, so I have to live vicariously through you.=D Are you cosplaying?

I plan on taking pictures. I also hope I will re-encounter the person I befriended last time I was there. I don’t have the confidence to cosplay currently.

Awesome! Really hope that you have a nice time at the con. And hopefully one day you’ll have the confidence to cosplay. I find cosplaying helpful to approach people. It helps to set the “oh I like your cosplay!” Or the “omg you’re cosplaying as…..” or “I love the fandom” and it’s easier to talk with people. =)

But I do get it. I have never gone to a con as a “normal” before, always in cosplay because I thought that is what you do when you go. I had a big problem in 2019 with feelings of confidence in cosplay and at cons. So I’m trying to restore that.

My daughter loves cosplay, it did get her out of her shell. Have a great time, promise to tell 10 woman you like their cosplay outfit:cool:

I definitely agree cosplaying would help in socialization. Two big things that have gotten in the way of doing it for me are indecisiveness on character choice and my physical health.

@Aspychata I will definitely do that. I also hope maybe I will make new friends.

Really understand what you mean Markness. I have too many ideas and I often jump between projects although I have gotten better. What is the ONE cosplay that you really want to do? I’ve seen people with various forms of disabilities cosplay. I don’t know what the cosplay con scene is like in the USA but I know that there’s more accessibility than previously.

I hope that you have a nice time and that you meet new people.=)

Markness! This is awesome! Take some pictures and start a forum thread with your adventure at Ikkicon. Conventions are a blast--I've been to some, but not anime/fan cons. Keep us posted & hopefully you meet tons of artists & other cool people!

Have an awesome time! =D If you see a cosplayer, compliment them on their cosplay and talk about the fandom with them If you see one that you know.
