  • I got a concussion and sprained my neck this morning. DCD is annoying sometimes. They gave me a muscle relaxant at the hospital and I can't think well right now so I am not a fan.
Started volunteering at a local retail business on a very part time basis! Hoping to have a job by the end of the summer. I am a quick learner and efficient. And my supervisor says I am doing really well.
It's been a bit over a year at my new program and I am doing well! I know how to ride public transport and pretty much live on my own except for having a job. That will be this years goal as I age out after next year. I really think proper programs for autistic young adults are needed for many of us to thrive as we transition to adulthood and it's so sad that many of us never get that chance and end up floundering.

Great to read this. Nice to see this transition in you. :)

It is much better to accomplish this when you are young and (physically) healthy and have your life ahead of you, then to flounder and finally accomplish it without help when you are old and dying.

Happy Chanukkah to you too! My daughter and I are on our way to a Chabad menorah lighting. It's an extra special event. They're hoping to have 1800 candles lit tonight.
Moonbin from the kpop boy group Astro has passed away at age 25. He was my bias in his group he will be so missed by his family, fans, and the kpop community. I am not sure how to process this honestly but it has hit me hard.

That is always a nice feeling. I have the worst time getting haircuts because sometimes the executive functioning gets me. Glad you made it!

Autistic people work at the place that I go to. Real life open out and proud autistic people! Very cool and 100% an upgrade from any other place ever.

I have a grocery chain like that in town and they're the nicest people in the world
My new therapist is autistic but does not know it (Well I am pretty sure she is anyway) It's kind of interesting to watch how much she relates to

I suspect a therapist of mine might be (though I think she would know). She specializes in ASD, mentions having autistic family members in her website, does therapy as a side job (she is actually a programmer) and in our last session some months ago we spend a good chunk of the time geeking out over our knowledge of the Ukraine war which we were both obsessed by.

That's kinda of ironic. I brought this concept to my last therapist who felt that maybe she too was autistic. Then l stopped going, l shouldn't have to be the therapist at appointments for me.
getting ready to move I have to pack everything in one week! Serves me right for procrastinating at least I only have one room to pack and not an whole house.

Have a safe trip, Pastel; moving can be stressful but it can also be fun. Get some help if you need to.

@Gerontius thank you! I will have some help tomorrow and tuesday. I am hoping to keep stress down but of course it's a lot to manage.
