  • i wish i enjoyed my current job.
my managers are so rude to me.
my manager said yesterday and i QUOTE "you think you not having accommodations yet is this bad wait until we put you in member services (another position at my work)"
HR is the only department that seems to care. my manager, unfortunately, likes to belittle me because i need live captions with my job.
    so over things lately..:disappointed:

oh no, im so sorry you had to go through that. they sound like complete jerks, hopefully you still aren't there. :)

The pay was 18 an hour plus tips, but it was 6 days a week, sometimes 9 hours a day. Now they only pay 9.00 an hour plus tips. Change in economy. I left when my aspie boss retired. She was great to work for.

I sorta just got thrown into bartending. I know, aspie bartender? I did meltdown at the end of day. I couldn't go to sleep until 2am because of our active brains. But it's good money, you walk away with more confidence.
has anyone on here additionally been diagnosed with support levels 1,2,3? im still trying to do my research.

A diagnosis might be done under the DSM or under the ICD, the two main manuals.

The current version of DSM, DSM-5, uses the ASD umbrella, with a level (1, 2, or 3) indicating the level of needs/supports that the person would benefit from. The previous version of DSM (DSM IV), along with current version of ICD, ICD-10 did not use levels, but three separate diagnoses - ASD, Asperger's, and PDD-NOS.

    VictorR
As DSM is predominant in the United States and Canada, most people from those countries who have had their diagnosis within the past decade would have ASD-1/2/3.

Those with an older diagnosis, or one that was done under ICD would not have the number, and might possibly have a diagnosis of Asperger's or PDD instead.

I hope this helps! (and I hope I didn't make any mistakes here)

    a little update:
im doing okay, my powers back on but im still without internet.
im at my work, today is the last day of training. im really nervous, we haven't gotten our official schedules either. :sob:
crossing my fingers i get 8-5pm or 9-5pm, i don't know how ill be able to deal with a 11-8pm. my moms trying to help me realize it'll be okay but throwing my whole routine off is my worst nightmare.
have a lot of flooding and debris in my town.
my street has a manhole cover that fell off and has been spouting water since yesterday..:sob:
i called out of work but i need internet to do my college assignments so im at my mom's work.

That sounds scary, an unprotected manhole. I wonder about two things. Sewage releases and industrial chemicals. And, in the karst areas the possibility of an increase in sinkholes as water fills up then drains from normally dry underground voids.

    Stay safe
if anyone on here lives in florida and will be impacted by hurricane ian be safe. :sob:
im making sure i have enough food and water for the next few days, im also making sure my cats have a spot to hide with me if worse comes to worse.
    hoping for no damage.
had a huge meltdown yesterday at work.. :sob:
    im hoping today goes better:grin:

oh no, i hope things get better for you too. thank you, im trying. i just wish i had documentation already, my work is killing me. :disappointed:

    Owliet
I’m assuming documentation means that official paper saying you have a diagnosis? Yes, I get that. I really hope that you’re able to be able to manage today and then destress at home. Or at least, I hope that you have a very sympathetic colleague who understands that you’re feeling like this and could maybe help you out, even without that documentation?
psychiatrist appointment update: ran into a huge misunderstanding, cried a lot in my car. my mom helped me realize that the psychiatrist ACTUALLY diagnosed me rather than ignoring what i had to say and then some. he wants me to go to a neurologist for further testing, he thinks i may have some personality disorders as well  :sob:

im not sure, he didn't specify. he wants me to set up an appointment with his friend he knows who's a neurologist? he thinks a service dog is a great idea though, he thinks it could really help me. :)

"his friend" hmmm. it´s always better to have a second opinion and a friend is not really independent. you could go to another neurologist additionally, who is really independent. also always be sure that he could be wrong or incompetent and so don´t believe everything. try to think about it yourself.

i understand, he gave me some referrals for a therapist too. he thinks it would be a good idea. :)
whew, one more day until my psychiatrist appointment. :worried::grin:

Maybe you're masking less, which can sometimes be a good thing over the long haul

The world is taxing at times. Sometimes you need to disengage from life in general. I am doing a three day disengagement. So l can just treat myself with kid gloves.
