My good friend dealt with a burst vein in her finger, l read up on it and it looks like after 6 months, you are out of that issue.

This video from the beginning of the pandemic brought my daughter and me great joy while we were laid low with covid:
After 2.5 yrs it finally happened...Covid positive. Fever, aches, fatigue. Fun stuff.

Yeah. I caught Omicron last January. Take care...

Thanks. So far I've been able to evade it but knew my time would come. Glad it's not worse though.

Very uncomfortable for about two days, then my fever broke and my symptoms slowly dissipated over another five days. This after two primary injections and one booster.
Got fall fever much earlier this year... probably because it's been feeling like a neverending August all summer..
Waiting outside in the 100 degree heat while the cleaners clean (never had anyone come into my house to clean before so cue "what-do-i-do-awkwardness."

It actually reminds me of another reason why I hate summers.. starting @10 yrs, spending my summers working the family business (no vacation for me) and cleaning 40+ hotel rooms, left by beach goers and fisherman (the smell, and sand everywhere!!), in 100 degree heat and humidity, and add in the heat of the hotel laundry, folding hot towels and sheets. One of the reasons why I loved school.

But still wouldn't change that part of my childhood. Hard work always paid off. Gratitude every day. Working service industry does wonders. Today it would be considered child labor but back then it was all about family survival. But I suppose no different than family farm life.
Stay safe and hydrated UK ppl.

I'm from the UK. I will try not to lose too many bodily fluids. Than you for your concern!

It will be hard though. It has started to get very hot here right now. Hottest summer since, hmmnn.. last summer. :)

Got family up in the Leeds area and they love this kinda weather. They were envious when I told them it was 43C here. Well here ya go. Enjoy.
2 week mission to deep clean and declutter house: day 2--found the long lost car keys (smh).

My husband is a clutterbug/hoarder and have been anxiously waiting for him and my eldest to leave for the UK so I can finally start tossing and cleaning. Turns out his car keys which he lost months ago was hidden by my eldest son (who has recently developed a compulsion of touching and moving everyday items).

So far it's taken me 2 days just for the kitchen and pantry. But progress has been good and therapeutic.
Oh hi new interface, welcome to the forum where people don't like change. (Just kidding) can't wait to change my profile.
    This country is moving backwards...fast.

True. Quite likely given those six to three odds.

Truth be told, finding out half the country is susceptible to cult mentality was distressing enough.. but the repercussions will be felt for decades to come. Should have to listened to my husband when he suggested we move to Netherlands years ago. But I guess it's never too late.
...when 95 degrees is considered a cold front...smh.

And then you can get arrested and go to a nice cell with an air conditioner bwahahaha. Unless you go somewhere discreet or to the local nudist beach...

One of my students accidentally went to a local nudist beach and told the class she got the shock of her life seeing one of the teachers there, and a male teacher at that. Irreversible burnt-in images in her brain...
I know it's not even officially summer yet but........is it autumn yet ??

Well, officially it's still autumn where I live! ;)

Talking to yourself should be normalized...
    LadyS
    LadyS
Sure, out of embarrassment. Even common things can make some people uncomfortable, take menstruation, or defecating for example. Perfectly natural. Just a couple weeks ago, some people commented on my son who was playing and talking to himself, thinking it was rather funny instead of normal.
    LadyS
    LadyS
Also, not everyone knows that talking to yourself is normal or common. There's still a stigma about it that people think is related to mental illness.

My daughter just was full of self talk. It was so cute. Maybe it's comforting.

I wish I could relay it all but it was too chaotic to even put into words..not to mention I've forgotten most of it..

I grew up and still live in Temple. It’s a city but the conservative small town mentality still sneaks in. Even people who like rock and rap music tend to still vote for Abbott and Cruz.

Ahh I know some people from there, or at least grew up there. I hear ya about the small town mentality. It's hard to break through..

Where the ones who grew up there glad to be out of it? Besides my friends’ comic book shop and two video game stores, Temple is boring.

My past is marked by pain and failure to overcome. This makes me feel like my future is going to just be the same.
