    That's great! I think setting mini-goals (such as overcoming anxiety, improving your emotional intelligence, or learning to be content being single to avoid coming across as desperate or needy) will make it easier to achieve your ultimate goal of getting a girlfriend.

    All it reminded me is that I was weird because I didn't want what everyone else wanted ,the true reason for it was a martyrs day \Saints day remembering Valentine if you choose to or you're Roman catholic and only having one spouse until one dies ,he championed monogamy over polygamy

    Yesterday my search was the 1st four sentences. And gave me no pertinent results. Today I tried searching using the 1st five sentences, and that does give the song in the first two results.

    That was only a couple months ago. It's nice that you've heard from someone you met. It takes me longer than a couple months to know whether someone is my friend, though.

    Fun bit about coffeehouses; most of the people there are also as isolated as us, and frequently I see people who aren't expecting me to be friendly. Which is funny--I wasn't expecting them to be friendly. So it starts with "nice hat" or "hey that's neat" and from a compliment you can get a whole conversation.

    (And no I didn't take up on his offer to join the local committee--I told him that I'd have to settle in town & take up residence first, otherwise I'd be some annoying out-of-stater showing up.) But no seriously--if you take the "date" thing out of it for awhile you can have a lot more interesting life. And if you end up finding a girl, then so much the better.
