Before I had my wisdom teeth removed, my teeth felt very tight. I used to wedge my thumbnail in between my teeth, for the momentary feeling of relief of pressure....when I'd remove it.
Mine are growing in sideways and they're supposed to be mostly impacted, but one on my bottom jaw actually is showing through the gumline now and is putting pressure on my other teeth, which is why it hurts. I've done the finger-nail thing and it does help. I hate this though because even with my retainer it's making my teeth shift!
I was supposed to get one after I got my braces off, but I don't think I have insurance anymore and I also am scared to get one because I don't think they will sedate me (dentists here just numb your mouth now).
The dentist said he'd refer me to the oral surgeon there. I'm only worried about sedation because I have bad anxiety, and I don't know if I can stay still the entire time and not freak out. lol
I was awake when I had mine out. They gave me a tranquilizer (pill) before the surgery. The oral surgeon was deft with his hands. I saw nothing scary (tools) or bloody (my teeth). He kept that stuff out of my range of vision.
